The school is opened to children at 8:50am and lessons begin immediately. Children in Robins class are welcomed into school via the front door and children in Barn Owls and Golden Eagles via the gate onto the school field.
All children are encouraged to say goodbye to parents/carers at this point and any messages that need to be passed onto the class teacher can either be left with the staff member on the door or passed via the school office.
Morning Breaktime
At 10:40am all children have a 20 minute morning break. A fruit snack is provided to children in Reception and KS1. KS2 children are welcome to bring in a healthy snack from home.
Lunch
Our lunch break is one hour, running from 12noon – 1pm.
Aspens Services cook fresh school dinners on site daily. There is no charge to Reception or Key Stage 1 for school dinners. The cost of a meal for Key Stage 2 children is £2.47 per day. Please see our ‘School Meals’ tab for further information and to view our current menu.
Alternatively you can send a home packed lunch into school for your child. We enjoy seeing the variety of healthy options in home packed lunches.

Our school day ends at 3:20pm

The Government request that all schools display their exact times of opening, along with the total number of hours spent in education.
For Ditchingham Primary Academy, the following applies:
Start of the school day (Mon – Fri) – 8.50am
End of the school day (Mon – Fri) – 3.20pm
Total hours in education per day: 6 hours 30 minutes
Total hours in education per week: 32.5 hours
