Music Mission Statement

In the kingfisher partnership, we believe music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity.  We aim to inspire and engage all of our pupils to develop a love of music, be able to critically engage with music and allow them to compose, perform, evaluate and listen to music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the words of great composers and musicians.

Implementation

Curriculum

Charanga Musical School is used across ALL classes to deliver consistent music approach for all classes.

In EYFS, children are taught many rhymes to help with learning but as in mixed aged classes join in the with music lessons with their whole class.

Children are offered the opportunity to take part in extra music lessons with external music teachers who offer private tuition in a number of different instruments including flute, piano, clarinet and recorder.

We also take art in the whole class orchestra scheme for year 4 children provided by the Norfolk Music Service. This includes a whole term of whole class tuition in an instrument to create a class orchestra,

Additional opportunities for singing in the day include the use of Sing Up and Norfolk Music Service in daily worship.
